POLICE OFFICER

The Milford Police Department, serving a population of over 17,000 and an area of 36 square miles, is a department of Village government, also serving the surrounding Charter Township of Milford. Milford is a thriving community with a prosperous downtown and several square miles of parkland.  We are home to the General Motors Proving Ground, about halfway between Detroit and Lansing.

IApplicants must be MCOLES certified or certifiable at time of hire.  Additional qualifications include:  

• Age 21 – U.S. citizen
• Minimum 2 years (60 credit hours) college
• Must meet the qualifications of the Police Officer job description for the Milford Police Department, consistent with ADA
• Valid MI driver’s license
• Red Cross CPR and First Aid
• Able to work variable days and hours, including overtime
• Ability to read, comprehend, write and communicate effectively
