Police Officer

The Milford Police Department, serving a population of over 17,000 and an area of 36 square miles, is seeking candidates for the position of full-time Police Officer.  The Milford Police are a department of Village government, also serving the surrounding Charter Township of Milford.  Milford is a thriving community with a prosperous downtown and several square miles of parkland.  We are home to the General Motors Proving Ground, about halfway between Detroit and Lansing .

Applicants must be MCOLES certified or certifiable at time of hire.  Additional qualifications include:  

  • Age 21 – U.S. citizen
  • Minimum 2 years (60 credit hours) college
  • Must meet the qualifications of the Police Officer job description for the Milford Police Department, consistent with ADA
  • Valid MI driver’s license
  • Red Cross CPR and First Aid
  • Able to work variable days and hours, including overtime
  • Ability to read, comprehend, write and communicate effectively
